Pathways

​​​​​Students in Years 7-12 participate in a range of activities designed to help students explore their own interests and strengths, the world of work and build career knowledge. These activities include:

  • Dedicated careers lessons
  • Exploring options through Coaching Young People for Success
  • Listening to guest speakers about universities, TAFE, workplace health and safety and Defence Forces
  • Studying university courses while still at school via Headstart
  • Completing a school-based traineeship or apprenticeship
  • Creating a résumé and cover letter
  • Participating in mock interviews and work experience
  • Attending careers expos
  • SETPlan conversations
  • Attaining qualifications through other providers including TAFE and the SCTTTC
  • Applying for further study via QTAC
  • A work readiness group for students pursuing employment and training
  • Participating in the SVETE program, gaining work experience and qualifications
  • Nominating for QLD Training Awards
  • Engaging in USC on-campus events.

  • Supporting students in the work readiness group

ONLINE RESOURCES

Unity College also has a dedicated careers website. This provides a one-stop-shop for careers information and resources. Students and families can access information about senior schooling, post-school options and more.
