Wellbeing at Unity College

Learning and wellbeing go hand in hand at Unity College.

It is our aim to provide a learning environment that allows for each student's gifts and abilities to grow; supported by a dedicated team of staff committed to ensuring the pastoral care and wellbeing of all members within the college community.

Our pastoral care and wellbeing programs, structures and procedures adhere to the principles, policies, regulations and guidelines of Brisbane Catholic Education and reflect our ecumenical values and principles: Dialogue in Practice, Solidarity of Purpose and Inclusive Processes.

We believe that students learn best in an environment in which they feel safe, both physically and emotionally. When students feel safe, they develop essential relationship skills to collaborate with peers and teachers and have the confidence to take on new challenges in their learning journey.

To create our safe and supportive learning environment, we explicitly provide learning opportunities for students to develop their personal and social capabilities in all subjects and across all year levels as prescribed in the Australian Curriculum.

We hope that all members of our college community and visitors to the college always feel a deep sense of welcome on our campus. We strive for our students to develop a deep empathy for the other in our local, national and global context.
