Digital Innovation Strategy
Unity College is committed to supporting students and staff in creating a 21st Century learning environment. We recognise the importance of digital innovation in our everyday lives.
As we prepare students for life in the 21st Century we must equip them with the skills to utilise technology responsibly and empower them for lifelong learning. Our College will provide, through the Digital Innovation Strategy, each child (Years 4-12) with a device.
We strongly believe the Digital Innovation Strategy:
- Shifts instruction towards more student centred learning, where inquiry and authentic learning is emphasised
- Focuses on 21st Century learning, including critical and creative thinking, collaboration, communication, self-direction, global awareness and cultural awareness
- Uses online learning and digital content daily
- Increases student engagement through digital innovation
At Unity College, technology is a tool that enhances pedagogy and allows differentiation in learning. By utilising online learning environments, accessing cloud storage and immersing themselves in the online learning opportunities, students can research, collaborate, present, create, refine and represent knowledge in contemporary and meaningful ways.
Our Digital Innovation Strategy allows students to transition seamlessly, between learning at school and at home, and provides connectivity to a variety of other digital devices within the classroom.
