Reporting

At Unity College, Parent Information Evenings are held at the beginning of the school year to outline class expectations, routines, curriculum, assessment practices and general information relevant to each year level.

In line with current Australian Government legislative requirements, formal reporting relating to student progress and achievement occurs twice each year—at the end of Semester 1 and Semester 2. A five-point achievement scale is used to provide parents and students with a clear and consistent indication of achievement across each Key Learning Areas. Student reports are made available electronically via the BCE Connect App at the end of each semester.

Informal communication between parents and teachers is strongly encouraged. Meetings can be arranged at any time throughout the year to share information and to build positive partnerships that support student learning. These meetings may be initiated by either teachers or parents.

Formal Parent–Teacher Interviews take place at the beginning of Term 1 and end of Term 3 to discuss students’ learning habits, progress and achievements. Celebrations of Learning also occur throughout the year, providing opportunities for students to share and reflect on their learning with families.
