Students in Years 7-12 participate in a range of activities designed to help students explore their own interests and strengths, the world of work and build career knowledge. These activities include:
- Dedicated careers lessons
- Exploring options through Coaching Young People for Success
- Listening to guest speakers about universities, TAFE, workplace health and safety and Defence Forces
- Studying university courses while still at school via Headstart
- Completing a school-based traineeship or apprenticeship
- Creating a résumé and cover letter
- Participating in mock interviews and work experience
- Attending careers expos
- SETPlan conversations
- Attaining qualifications through other providers including TAFE and the SCTTTC
- Applying for further study via QTAC
- A work readiness group for students pursuing employment and training
- Participating in the SVETE program, gaining work experience and qualifications
- Nominating for QLD Training Awards
- Engaging in USC on-campus events.

- Supporting students in the work readiness group
